About Dr. Lemmons

Dr. Albert G. Lemmons, warmly known as Albert, is more than a well-respected figure in the world of theology and academia. He has served as a college president, professor, local church minister, amongst many other ministry leadership roles. He comes from a long line of ministers going back 150 years.

As an author, Albert has made significant contributions to religious literature in the area of prayer and fasting. His latest book, "Worship with Fasting", delves deep into the historical and practical aspects of fasting and has received high praise for its insightful exploration.

His education has seen him journey through esteemed institutions, including Freed-Hardeman College, Harding College, University of Miami, Brite Divinity School, and Rice Seminary, where he completed his Doctorate of Ministry in May 1974. But his learning extends beyond academia, as he is proud to have journeyed through his Bible nearly 100 times. This devotion to scripture is reflected in the impactful revival meetings, workshops, and seminars he has conducted across four continents over 60 years.

Albert's love story with his wife Patsy Davenport Lemmons has spanned over six decades. They have nurtured a large family together, raising five children, and now have the joy of eleven grandchildren running around. This is where Albert truly feels at home, amidst the bustling energy of his family, recounting tales from their beloved film "Quigley Down Under", or sharing snippets from the sequel he once wrote just for them.

Even though his surname is spelled with two 'm's. Visitors to their home in Franklin, Tennessee, are often amused by the array of lemon-themed decorations gifted over the years, a light-hearted nod to their family name.

He currently serves as the Pastoral Care Minister for the Fourth Avenue Church of Christ, and was appointed as a National Senior Advisor to the Presidential Prayer Committee in 2002.
